The dentistry power couple

Dr Raj and Dr Kiran Juneja the dentistry power coupleDr Raj and Dr Kiran Juneja are a young dental couple from Berkshire who have exploded onto the dental scene. Dr Raj Juneja is a GDP with a special interest in aesthetic restorative dentistry, perfecting smiles over Berkshire and Hertfordshire. As well as this he is an Invisalign speaker and a mentor for many young dentists. Dr Kiran Juneja has stopped all clinical dentistry and has pursued her special interest in facial aesthetics. She works in clinics over north London and Harley Street, delivering non-surgical injectable treatments and medical grade skincare.

By combining their passion for aesthetics, both Dr Raj and Kiran Juneja are comprehensively treating patients. With a bright future ahead and lots of new ventures to look out for, let’s personally meet our dentistry power couple.

How did you meet?

We met each other whilst studying dentistry at The University of Birmingham. After meeting in fresher’s week, we got together very early on in our course and have been together ever since. We are still debating who made the first move!

Dr Kiran: But Raj is convinced it was me!

What do you like most about your specialisms?

Dr Raj: For me to see my patients smiling with confidence and genuinely amazed by the results we have achieved for them is thoroughly rewarding.

My interest in aesthetic dentistry was first sparked when I completed a special study module in aesthetic dentistry as an undergraduate. Since then my passion has been fuelled further by numerous post-graduate courses and I always strive to achieve perfection for my patients.

I never have to drag myself out of bed to work. I work six days a week, every day with equal energy and passion because I love the dentistry I am doing.

Dr Kiran: I always want my patients to look and feel their best. I find it so rewarding to see the results we can achieve with non-surgical injectable treatments and medical grade skincare. I believe the face is a canvas and facial aesthetics is an art form, allowing me to beautify and rejuvenate my patients. This passion has led me to stop all clinical dentistry and concentrate solely on facial aesthetics. I have never looked back since!

It’s so amazing to see how subtle ‘tweakments’ can really enhance the face in such a natural way and improve my patients’ confidence.

Do you offer each other advice?

Dentistry as a profession can be very lonely. Fortunately we are in a very unique position, as we both completely understand each other’s challenges at work.

Sometimes we do not appreciate how lucky we are to have each other to lean on. We supported each other during university, through all the exams we had to do, graduating and now continue to do so in both personal and professional aspects of our lives.

How do your patients respond to the two of you working together?

Our patients value our personable approach as we always strive to go the extra mile towards their care. Together we are able to offer a comprehensive approach by combining our specialist interests.

We constantly connect with our patients through our joint social media account. It gives us the platform to share information about the treatments we offer, as well as give them an insight into our lives outside of dentistry.

How do you refrain from talking about work 24/7 or do you enjoy it?

We are both very passionate about our work so sometimes it can be difficult to switch off. However, we both enjoy bouncing ideas off one another and push each other to be the best that we can be in our work.

Dr Raj: I am a self-confessed workaholic, working crazy hours whether it be in the clinic or outside. But Kiran keeps me grounded and gives clarity into what is important in life.

Do you have children? If so, would you like them to pursue similar careers?

For us, family is very important and we wouldn’t be where we are today without their help and support. Growing our family is so important to us. We don’t have any children at the moment but we cannot wait to start a family in the future.

When we do have children, for us it does not matter whether they follow similar careers. What does matter is that they commit and work hard in the profession of their choice.

What do you like to do in your downtime?

Being very big foodies and travel junkies, we love to explore the world, try different cuisines and open our senses into what the world has to offer. We have an annual tradition of a road trip from Munich to the Berchtesgaden Alps in January. This is a time for us to reflect on the past year and plan for the future ahead.
