Kemdent is the registered trademark of Associated Dental Products Ltd. Based in Swindon, England, the company has always shown a clear commitment to high quality dental materials. Kemdent welcomes visits to its facilities from members of the dental profession. It is also a proud member of Made in Britain, making it really clear to distributors and dental professionals Kemdent products are made right here in the UK meeting the highest standards.
Founded in 1922, Kemdent has grown to be a global player in the manufacture of dental materials. Consequently, with help from dental importers and distributors, Kemdent finds markets around the world for its range of products. Its customers value products made in England.
Optimum results with Kemdent
The Kemdent brand is best known for its range of principally wax-based dental products, including Anutex wax and Tenatex wax. Kemdent has been manufacturing high quality modelling waxes for 90 years. It has also recently collaborated with the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) and the Improve Your Resource Efficiency Service (IYRE) to develop a more ecologically friendly way of manufacturing modelling waxes. Utilising its wax manufacturing expertise and energy efficiency funding from the IYRE, the result is the new Anutex eco and Tenatex eco ranges. Kemdent believes these are the world’s first eco-friendly ranges of modelling waxes.
In keeping with regulatory guidelines, Kemdent manufactures its products to ISO13485, all products therefore have CE markings; we also fully inspect any new product in the range with approval coming from NSAI, the notified body for EU medical devices.
We design all Kemdent products to give optimum results more quickly and easily. There is true value to working with the right materials. Long term the right materials provide cost effective and give consistent results.
Kemdent is a manufacturer rather than a distributor, 70% of our sales are to export markets. We therefore work closely with distributing companies globally to reach dentists and dental technicians all over the world with Kemdent products. Our biggest market is Europe, but more recently we are developing strength in exports to Mexico, South Korea, Argentina, the Middle East and Japan.
We continue to progress a growth strategy for export working with the Department for International Trade services in the UK and Europe to help us expand into new markets.
Looking to the future
Research and development continues to be an important factor in the key to Kemdent’s success. With support from the Medical Research Council the company is also currently working on developing a glass ionomer cement with antimicrobial properties. We introduced Diamond, a unique tooth coloured glass ionomer cement, to the UK in 1997. Since launching, Diamond has gained a significant share of the UK market.
Looking to the future, digital dentistry has had a huge impact in the UK and global dentistry markets. Kemdent’s research and development department are therefore working on a range of CAD/CAM materials launching in 2020 to aid the chairside and dental laboratory digital workflow. This will add to our milling waxes already available for the production of dental crowns using CAD/CAM milling machines.
Superb team
None of the above would be possible without the great employees we have at Kemdent. We are immensely proud of our staff retention and record of internal progression of staff. All staff meet continuous training targets to improve their skills and in turn improve our company.
Our production supervisor, Bharath Karumuri, is a great example of this. We have invested in supporting and training Bharath and his work to increase our production efficiency. This has also increased our companies performance immensely.
Associated Dental Products Ltd is one of the few dental companies manufacturing in this country. We are therefore proud to export high quality dental materials to dental professionals globally.
