Here Barry Oulton explains why laughing gas was his route into dentistry and what his ambitions are for the future.

Barry Oulton qualified from the University of Leeds in 1993.
Then he obtained his DPDS from Bristol University in 2001 and his masters level at the Aesthetic Advantage in West Palm Beach Florida.
He became a senior instructor for the Aesthetic Advantage both in the UK and US.
He’s run two successful dental practices, was a vocational trainer for five years and lectures for DMG in Germany, S4S on splint therapy and Septodont on pain and patient management.
Barry also pioneered the Comfortable Dental Injection Technique (CDIT).
Barry currently runs his award-winning dental practice in Haslemere Surrey and is also a family man with four children.
He was one of only two dentists who completed the first dental sales training course in the UK.
Since then, huge developments have occurred in the world of human psychology and behaviour.
Barry has trained extensively in neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), hypnotherapy and human needs psychology.
Through these additional non-clinical trainings Barry has successfully developed his dental practice into a popular, well-respected and profitable seven-figure business.
Barry has a passion for training others, is a coach and mentor to students, dental professionals and business owners.
His 23 years as a clinical dentist and his ever increasing knowledge about people and psychology has led him to write several training courses.
His company, The Confident Dentist, offers face-to-face training, online courses and one-to-one coaching, specifically for dental practices.
