Introducing Smilelign

Smilelign is a clear orthodontic aligner system that uses the latest software and 3D CAD/CAM technology to produce first-class treatment plans and virtually invisible aligners.

Working in the same manner as a traditional brace, Smilelign applies pressure to enable tooth movement – with each aligner typically generating 0.3mm of movement, either on a specific tooth or group of teeth. With each aligner worn between two-three weeks, this provides stable movement that is both gentle and effective for the patient.

The benefits of Smilelign are clear

Made in the UK, our skilled team are on-hand to discuss requirements, case selection and answer any questions you may have. We offer free pre-aligners with each treatment plan (passive aligners), and boast a clear pricing structure.

The Smilelign service

We pride ourselves on providing a local service throughout the UK that rivals all other providers. Our trained technicians hand-map your patient’s treatment plan. Tailored to each patient, we provide guidance and recommendations based on the patient, the analysed data and your prescription. Patient satisfaction is at the heart of what we do, and addressing the patient’s main concern/s is of upmost importance. Equally, we provide materials to help ensure patient compliance and successful results.

Once the treatment plan has been agreed, the aligners are crafted in the lab. The whole process takes around 10-15 working days.

Treatment planning

Our treatment plan is a one-off cost that allows you (and the patient) to see what can be achieved, how long it will likely take and enables you to accurately cost the treatment. Created using innovative software, your patient’s models are scanned by one of our skilled technicians, who then manually plot the journey of each individual tooth, crafting your patient’s bespoke treatment plan.

This plan details the number of aligners required, before and after images, as well as a short animation showing movement. A pair of pre-aligners are also supplied to check impression accuracy and to ensure that it is the right treatment for the patient.

If you, or your patient, decide to change the plan or not go ahead with treatment, there is no further cost.

Case selection

Clear aligners are a very effective orthodontic treatment for many cases. There are, however, cases that can be difficult to treat, being too complex for clear braces.

We have guidelines to help with case selection – but our Smilelign technicians are always on hand to be able to advise you further. We always aim to provide treatment plans that are realistic, predictable, completed within a reasonable time and do not require any specialist skills from the GDP.

Our commitment to the environment

In a drive to reduce our carbon footprint, we are continually innovating and developing our processes in order to pass these benefits on to our customers. By actively encouraging our customers to provide digital impressions, this reduces the amount of gypsum being disposed of. We have also redesigned our pre-aligner boxes, using environmentally friendly materials. Look out for these being rolled out now.
