Bupa’s search for the perfect practice took a novel turn in Halifax, Yorkshire
Bupa Dental Care continues to grow at quite the pace. It’s now one of the leading dental providers across the UK, with over 470 dental practices across the UK and Ireland, and the company has acquired more than 20 practices since the beginning of the year.
It is therefore not uncommon that it acquires a new practice however, its newest practice might make you double take because it’s set in a beautifully converted church.
Nestled in a picturesque village outside of Halifax, the aptly named Old Church Dental Practice occupies a grade I-listed building and still boasts original features such as stained glass windows and stonework.
Despite its traditional exterior, inside it has been reconfigured to offer patients state of the art care. With six chairs and five dentists, the practice offers the latest digital X-rays and CT scanning, and is fully fitted to carry out implants and orthodontic treatment, as well as cosmetic and general dentistry.
Ruth Chesmore, acquisitions director for Bupa Dental Care, said: ‘We’ve welcomed some brilliant practices to the Bupa family before, but The Old Church stands out for obvious reasons! It’s unlike any practice I’ve seen before, with a restoration that’s practical for patients while being respectful of its past.
‘It’s an ideal location, but it was the team that really sold the practice to us and we’re delighted to welcome them to the Bupa family. Their commitment to patient care stood out and made them a perfect fit.’
Nigel Hargreaves, dentist at The Old Church added: ‘We’re very fortunate to practice in such a beautiful environment. I’m looking forward to working with Bupa, particularly as it will give us the opportunity to expand the number of chairs at the practice.’
As with any practice joining Bupa, colleagues at The Old Church will be able to access Bupa’s referral network, as well as receiving support for day-to-day functions like clinical governance, marketing, HR and IT.
Ruth continued: ‘We know that our dentists want to focus on treating patients, so by taking care of the admin behind the scenes, we can help practices grow, whilst maintaining their commitment to top quality patient care.’
