Thinking of offering orthodontic treatment in your practice? IAS Academy lists the training it is providing in the coming months.
From day one, the IAS Academy has taken great effort to provide a quality training pathway that focuses on the ethical delivery of minimally invasive anterior alignment treatment. Its philosophy of ‘correct assessment, accurate diagnosis, personalised treatment planning and appropriate treatment delivery’ has been at the heart of this, ensuring safe and effective GDP orthodontics for over a decade.
The IAS way
Today, the IAS Academy is one of the leading providers of orthodontic appliances and training courses across the UK and internationally, offering an array of education dedicated to anterior alignment for simple to moderate cases. It is perhaps best known for the Inman Aligner, which was the academy’s first ever appliance launched in the UK, but there is a wide range of appliances and courses available to suit the full spectrum of needs.
These include the Clearsmile Aligner removable appliance for the alignment and correction of the eight anterior teeth, and the Clearsmile Brace low-visibility fixed brace system as well as the Clearsmile Discreet Brace for more complex cases. The most recent addition to the IAS Academy family of appliances is the Clearsmile Aligner Light, which has been specifically designed to treat UL3-UR3 mild crowding. Like the Inman Aligner, all of these products have been made with the patient in mind to ensure mild to moderate protruding or misaligned anterior teeth can be treated safely, gently and effectively.
Upcoming courses
Importantly, there is a progressive pathway with the products, meaning GDPs are required to gain the appropriate skills with certain appliances before they can advance to the next step. It begins with the Inman Aligner and Clearsmile Aligner Light, both of which are taught on the IAS ABB (align, bleach and bond) two-day hands-on course along with the Ortho Restorative programme. Upcoming courses, include: 18-19/01/2019 in London; 22-23/03/2019 in Manchester; 24-25/05/2019 in London; 21-22/06/2019 in Dublin; 04-05/10/2019 in London; 08-09/11/2019 in Edinburgh; and 06-07/12/2019 in London.
The cost for this course is £950.00 + VAT (£1,140.00), and is available to all GDPs, including those with little or no orthodontic experience. The next step is the Clearsmile Aligner course, which offers a more comprehensive insight into removable orthodontics for GDPs with a basic knowledge of minimally invasive anterior alignment appliances. The programme takes place over one day at a cost of £595.00 + VAT (£714.00), with the following course dates available for 2019: 01/02/2019 in London; 26/04/2019 in Birmingham; 07/06/2019 in London; 12/07/2019 in Manchester; and lastly, 22/11/2019 in London.
For more experienced clinicians looking to move into the fixed appliance arena, the IAS Academy provides the Clearsmile Brace certification course (which also covers the Clearsmile Aligner Light), and Clearsmile Discreet Brace. For the Clearsmile Brace two-day course, which is £950.00 + VAT (£1,140.00), the dates for the next year are: 15-16/02/2019 in London; 15-16/03/2019 in Bristol; 10-11/05/2019 in Manchester; 20-21/09/2019 in London; and 25-26/10/2019 in London. For practitioners with previous experience using similar appliances looking to convert to the Clearsmile Brace, there’s also the opportunity to attend the first day of the above dates for £295.00 + VAT (£354.00). As for the Clearsmile Discreet Brace, training is only available on the 15/03/2019 and 18/10/2019 in London, so be sure to book on before the places fill up!
The same goes for the highly sought after IAS Photography course, only £295 + VAT (£354.00) taking place on 30/03/2019 and 19/10/2019, also in London. With only a limited number of spaces available and places going fast, early booking is strongly advised.
More than just a course
Organised and run by an expert team of specialist orthodontists and highly experienced GDPs, all IAS courses cover both the theoretical and practical aspects of anterior alignment orthodontics to provide relevant training. Together, with the trainers’ unrivalled experience and insight into case selection, assessment, diagnosis, planning and treatment delivery, course attendees can rest assured that they will come away with the relevant expertise needed to ethically, safely and skilfully treat patients.
Of course, the learning doesn’t stop there when you choose to train through the IAS Academy. As part of the ongoing learning pathway, GDPs have full access to an online forum where they can seek advice from and share cases with trainers and mentors across the globe. There really is no stone left unturned.
