The team at FMC is feeling blue – but not because they’re down in the dumps. The award-winning dental publisher behind www.dentistry.co.uk and Dentistry magazine is actually showing its support for Mouth Cancer Action Month by donning the infamous ‘blue lips’!

Mouth Cancer Action Month takes place throughout November to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of mouth cancer, and the increasingly common sight of the ‘blue lips’ is a fun way to draw attention to a serious issue.

Mouth cancer rates are on the rise. With more than 7,500 people being diagnosed each year, raising awareness of mouth cancer is increasingly important. Catching cases early enough can make a huge difference to the mortality rate of a disease that now claims more than 2,000 lives annually.

Mouth cancer can affect anyone so we all need to be able to recognise and act on the warning signs in order to improve early diagnosis and help save lives which otherwise could be lost to the disease.
