The winners of the National Smile Month #MySmileySelfie competition have been announced as the staff from: St Clements Dental in London; Smile Dental Practitioners in Leicester; Odds Farm Park in High Wycombe, and TwentyOne Dental in Brighton.
The lucky winners of the #MySmileySelfie competition were randomly selected and will receive four tickets to a local comedy club, which is guaranteed to bring even more smiles; and hopefully even a laugh or two.
The #MySmileySelfie competition, which was part of the National Smile Month campaign, went viral with thousands of pictures shared on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
Dr Nigel Carter OBE, CEO of the Oral Health Foundation had this message for everyone who helped make this year’s social media campaign such a success: ‘Congratulations to our winners and thank you to the hundreds of people who have taken part and helped to spread smiles and oral health messages far and wide.
‘The smiley selfie symbolises exactly what National Smile Month is all about; having fun while sharing a smile and important oral health messages at the same time.
‘A smile is one of the most powerful tools we possess. It’s contagious, it shows confidence and has been proven to have a positive effect on our relationships, careers and overall image.
‘A smile is so simple, yet so many people are not confident in their own smile and this is often caused by problems related to poor oral hygiene.
‘Through #MySmileySelfie, we are giving people the opportunity to get actively involved in National Smile Month and come together to have a huge impact. Alongside education, the campaign is about having fun in order to reach out to everyone and drive the public’s interest in oral health.
‘With our smiley it’s impossible not to smile, it’s fun and it’s educational too. This year has been incredible with every smiley selfie imaginable being shared online, we can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with for next year.’
