Katie price has found herself at the centre of social media controversy again – this time involving her baby daughter’s teeth.
The mother of five has upset fans by seemingly giving her 20-month-old daughter fruit juice to drink.
In a photograph posted to the star’s Instagram account, Bunny is seen with her dad, Kieran Hayler, drinking what appears to be fruit juice from a baby’s bottle.
Unhealthy choice
Fans were quick to criticise Katie for allegedly giving her daughter a sugary drink.
One commenter said: ‘If that is juice…in a baby bottle @officialkatieprice…you will rot her teeth #basic’.
Another outraged fan said: ‘Please tell me that is not juice in a bottle! Really?!’
Never one to take criticism lying down, Katie soon hit back to fans.
She commented on the picture: ‘My kids are very happy and healthy and I’m sure I know what I’m doing after having 5 kids’.
BDA guidelines
Although fruit juices may seem like a healthy option for children, the British Dental Association recommends that parents be aware of ‘hidden sugars’.
‘Pure fruit juices can be a healthy choice, but the natural sugars these contain can still damage teeth, so fruit juice should be consumed with a meal and only one glass (150ml) a day’, the Association says.
‘Sugars in whole pieces of fruit are less likely to cause tooth decay because they are combined with fibre.’
