Get to know the speakers at the Practice Management Conference 2014

Great speakers have been lined up for this year’s Practice Management Conference, hosted by Business of Dentistry Events, in Bolton and Reading this June, including Sheila Scott, Kevin Lewis, Krishan Joshi and Nigel Jones. The conference is dedicated to developing the skills of practice management teams and offers an excellent opportunity for practices to share experiences with others thanks to the networking opportunities. Delegates will learn how to take greater control of their business decisions, understand how to avoid conflict in everyday situations and find out how to ensure their practice is taking advantage of all the business opportunities available to them.

A quick word from the speaker

Some of the speakers shared their thoughts on what to expect from this year’s conference. Krishan Joshi, founder of Dental Focus who specialises in creating websites for the dental industry, will show attendees how to create a website that will speak emotionally to visitors and convert more of them into actual bookings in the diary. Krishan commented: ‘I’m so excited about the Practice Management Conference because it is a forum full of decision makers and action takers. This makes for a fun, engaging and responsive audience, with lots of networking opportunities. I intend to give management teams both the reason and inspiration to be the best they can and push their expectations of what can be achieved from their website marketing and performance. They will walk away with new perspectives and lots of ideas on how their website can get to that next level.’ Krishan’s interactive presentation will also include a live demonstration of how to top the Google rankings.

Joining Krishan will be Nigel Jones, sales director at Practice Plan, who will be speaking on how practices can introduce a measurement culture into its practise. Nigel explained his hopes for the conference: ‘I would like to give the teams an idea of measurements that can be used, how to interpret the resulting data and how these can then be used to make helpful business decisions with confidence. Delegates will be motivated by my talk and return to their practices with a plan on how they can implement new systems and procedures to take back control!’

Along with Krishan and Nigel, Sheila Scott and Kevin Lewis will also be passing on their knowledge to attendees. Sheila will be drawing on her years as a leading industry consultant and focusing on management issues with her talk on how to effectively communicate the need for change. Trying to get some team members to change their behaviour is always a tricky subject, but Sheila has created a fail-safe framework for communicating that will help anyone who struggles with this common problem. Kevin Lewis, the dental director of Dental Protection, will be presenting on how to make sure your practice is safeguarded from litigation. This is a topic that no practice can ignore and who better to help you than one of the world’s leading authorities on the subject.
