High street guide for new wave of dentists

A new event which will guide young dentists through the minefield of high street dentistry takes place in April.

How to succeed in high street dentistry is the first of a new series of annual events helping dentists to maximise early career potential.

It’s designed to be relevant to all younger dentists – from final-year students and VTs to associates, corporate dentists and even dentists who have already managed to buy their first practice.

With an expected age range of early 20s to early 30s, the day will be packed full of practical ideas, hints and tips from fellow practitioners.

Delegates are promised a host of practical ideas and concepts to implement into their own situation and the day will end with a few beers and networking time to catch up with friends, colleagues, trade stands and the speakers themselves.

There will also be the opportunity to join the Young Dentist Foundation – a brand new online community in which younger dentists can stay in touch and share their experiences and concerns with one another via social media.

Plus, a chance to receive a copy of the brand new title, Progressive Dentistry, which launches in April and will focus on all the issues pertinent to the next wave of UK dentistry.

Chairman of the event, dentist, Arjun Kachhala will open the show, welcoming key players, Rahul  Doshi, Bhavna Doshi, Anoup Nandra , Matthew Perkins, Adam Hampson, Mark Oborn,  Arun Mehra and James Pritchard.

Topics covered will include:

• The simple steps to a successful, fulfilled and profitable career in dentistry
• How to use social media and online marketing in a dental practice
• Social media strategy
• How to buy and set up a practice
• How to structure a successful career path
• How to develop leadership and management skills

Progressive dentistry
All delegates will receive a copy of a brand new journal that launches in April, Progressive Dentistry. This is a new journal for younger dental professionals in, or entering into high street dentistry. It will be a centre point for young general dentists in high street Britain through the publication of practical articles, case studies, product/course news, technological developments, clinical advancements, new trends and key business strategies. A fundamental aspect of the journal is clear guidance on how to progress and develop in general practice, utilising knowledge of fellow dental professionals and mentors who have already had successes.
