The challenges of change in a dental world

Leading experts in their field, from Europe and the US, will speak at the James Hull Associates (JHA) Clinical Conference in London on Saturday 18 June.

It covers a range of clinical and management issues including single tooth implants, endodontics, restorative treatment and the challenges of change facing dental practices.

The conference offers an excellent opportunity to network with colleagues from the 74 JHA practices around the UK and to meet members of JHA’s Clinical Board and management teams. Where better to start that networking than at the gala dinner on Friday 17 June when the speaker will be the popular and entertaining Dr Stephen Hancocks OBE, editor in chief of the BDJ. Both the dinner and conference will be held at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington.

Two parallel sessions will run throughout the one-day clinical conference, providing the opportunity to attend a number of presentations and discussions which will be of interest to clinicians and other members of the dental practice team.

Among the clinical highlights will be Dr Richard Lee, offering Ten Top Tips to Achieve Beautiful Composites when he will discuss the techniques, materials and instrumentation he uses, whether it be diastema closures, composite veneers or that large class IV.

Anil Shrestha will talk about  Strategies for Delivering Quality Restorative Dental Care – an integral part of the ethos at JHA while Dr Rainer Urdaneta from Boston, MA. will present some of his clinical  experience with Bicon’s short implants and his latest research in crestal bone gain and survival of ultrashort locking taper implants.

On the non-clinical issues facing dentistry, Dr Simon Hocken, of Breathe Business, will discuss the challenges ahead and share his top strategies for Riding the Avalanche while Alan Cohen will look at the ten most common problems encountered by DPL members and how to reduce that risk.

Delegates will learn about the importance of communication skills particularly relating to consent, confidentiality, complaint handling and record keeping.

The JHA Clinical Conference 2011 provides a unique opportunity to hear from experts, exchange ideas and build on the foundation of JHA’s commitment to quality dental services.
