GDC seeks chair and member for Appointments Committee

The General Dental Council (GDC) is looking to appoint a new chair and member to its Appointments Committee.

The Appointments Committee ensures an independent recruitment process for our Fitness to Practise and Investigating Committee panels.

Its responsibilities include screening applications, interviewing and having an oversight of the entire appointments process.

It also makes sure a transparent and effective training and appraisal process is in place for members.

Advertisements are now appearing in national and trade press in an effort to reach as many potential applicants as possible.

GDC chief executive Duncan Rudkin says: ‘We hope people will take this opportunity to get involved with the General Dental Council in such a valuable way. We want to find someone who can meet the challenge of helping find the right people for these crucial functions. If we are to make the best possible appointments we need to attract the most diverse range of applicants. So whatever your personal and professional background, if you think you can make a contribution please find out more and make an application.’

Email [email protected], call 020 7887 3859 or write to: Siobhan McLoughlin, General Dental Council, 37 Wimpole Street, London W1G 8DQ.
The closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday 3 August 2009.
