Dentists run for mouth cancer charity

Staff at Primley Park Dentistry Practice in Alwoodley in Leeds are lacing up their running shoes to take part in the Leeds 10K run, on Sunday 22 June, and raise awareness and funds for the Mouth Cancer Foundation.

Team leader, Joanne Hobson, 48, from Menston in Ilkley is the Practice Business Manager at Primly Park Dentistry.

Joanne said: ‘Our dentists have identified several cases of mouth cancer and we’ve chosen to support the Mouth Cancer Foundation as this is a subject very close to us.

‘Our three dentist partners and one hygienist regularly check all patients for mouth cancer through their routine examinations. During National Smile Month we feel it is important to raise the awareness of the prevalence of Mouth Cancer and so chose to run the Leeds 10k in support of the charity.’

She has recruited a team of 11 colleagues to run the race.
