It’s good dental practice – go green for Earth Day

As millions around the world observe Earth Day today (22 April), healthcare company Henry Schein has produced a booklet of eco-friendly products to help healthcare professionals go ‘green’ in their practices.

Henry Schein Global Reflections is printed on recycled paper using environmentally-friendly ink.

The 16-page brochure includes natural oral care products, recycled paper products for practices, cleaning products with low environmental impact, rechargeable batteries, energy-efficient light bulbs and business machines, as well as other products.

The largest healthcare product distributors worldwide, Henry Schein was keen to do its bit for Earth Day, an annual event that marks the anniversary of the birth in 1970 of the modern environmental movement.

This was when 20 million Americans took to the streets to demonstrate for a healthy, sustainable environment.

Since then, the event has gone global, lifting the status of environmental issues onto the world stage.

‘Environmental stewardship is a pillar of corporate social responsibility that we embrace at Henry Schein through the ways that we conduct business and the products that we offer our customers,’ said Stanley M Bergman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Henry Schein.

‘Our new Global Reflections line demonstrates our commitment to meet the needs of our customers who are concerned about the environmental impact of their healthcare practices.

‘This is an important and growing segment of our market, and we are determined to lead by providing products and services that will encourage more ‘green’ practices in the future.’
