There were 102 dentists among the runners who clocked up the miles running the London Marathon yesterday (Sunday).
George Taylor, 44, a dental surgeon in Mount Florida, Glasgow, completed the course – his eighth London Marathon – in an amazing two hours, 43 minutes.
He said: ‘Do you think I was the first dentist back?
‘I’m back working this afternoon (Monday) and I had a few beers afterwards, too!
‘This is my 8th London – done a few in Europe and have done over 20 in total – but the legs are still sore!’
For Welsh dentist Rob Bryant, it was his first marathon – and it was in a good course.
Rob was raising funds for cancer charity, Tenovus, in memory of a friend who died from cancer last year.
Along with some fellow runners, they were hoping to raise £4,000.
Hertfordshire dentist Michael Watts, whose practice is in Potters Bar, ws almost among the 102 dentists who run the marathon.
He clocked up a time of four hours, 36 minutes.
