Infection control: leading audits for continuous improvement

This webinar will enable decontamination leads and infection prevention and control (IPC) leads to confidently lead infection control audits in line with current guidance.

It will also help them develop the leadership behaviours and skills necessary to drive continuous improvement in their teams and organisations.

Learning outcomes

Describe the role of the decontamination lead in leading infection control audits, including regulatory expectations (HTM 01 05, IPS, CQC)
Apply recognised leadership principles to enhance credibility, influence change, and lead audit activities with confidence and clarity
Evaluate audit results and lead SMART action planning to achieve continuous improvement in infection prevention and control
Reflect on their personal leadership style and areas for development in influencing, communication and coaching others in IPC standards.

Speaker: Laura Edgar

Laura is an expert dental decontamination trainer and fully qualified teacher with a special interest in DUWL and biofilms. She is the Managing Director of Aura Infection control, the UK and Ireland’s leading provider of infection control services and products to the dental sector. Laura also holds a position at the Infection Prevention Society and is a highly experienced speaker on the dental conference circuit. Laura has developed her knowledge and experience of dental decontamination with a degree in decontamination of reusable invasive medical instruments from Anglia Ruskin University. In addition, she has worked in dental decontamination for over 10 years.
