Professor of Molecular Oral Oncology Inventor of qMIDS® Precision Diagnostics & Cancer Biomarker Innovator Translating Genomics into Clinical Impact
Prof Teh obtained his BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science (1996) and PhD in Physiology (2000) from King’s College London. He is now a leading expert in molecular oral oncology at Queen Mary University of London. Renowned for His groundbreaking work on the oncogene FOXM1—a key driver in cancer initiation—earned him the prestigious Molecule of the Year award in 2010. He later developed qMIDS, the first molecular oral cancer test that has been independently validated through an international multicohort study involving over 500 patients from UK, China and India. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals such as Nature Genetics, Cancer Research, and Molecular Cancer, with a citation count exceeding 5,700 and an h-index of 38. Driven by a vision to integrate transcriptomics, AI, and clinical insight, Prof Teh continues to shape the future of affordable precision oncology and non-invasive diagnostics.
