Material selection is key to successful outcomes – Cat Edney introduces four essential restorative materials that she uses in practice.
Award-winning dental therapist and founder of The Modern Therapist Cat Edney is no stranger to furthering the skills of clinicians and dental therapists. She introduces them to the most advanced and clinically proven restorative materials that she routinely uses in her practice and on her many training courses.
With material selection being the key to successful restorative outcomes and in light of the continual advances in composite materials, Cat has come together with GC to present a new video highlighting the benefits of her restorative materials of choice.
What’s in store?
In this six-minute, information-packed video, Cat explains more about the four GC products she loves to use and the reasons why they have made a significant impact to her clinical practice:
- G-Premio BOND light-cured HEMA-free universal adhesive compatible with all etching modes, which according to Cat ‘gives a fantastic hybrid layer between dentine and restorative material… and I don’t have patients coming back with any sensitivity’
- EverX Flow short-fibre reinforced flowable composite, ideal for dentine replacement in areas where patients have deep cavities or fractures within their enamel or dentine. As Cat explains: ‘The short glass fibres within everX Flow reinforce the restoration from within, helping it achieve a strength similar to dentine and inhibiting crack propagation to give a really strong foundation for my restorations. Gone are the days when my patients come back with tensile sensitivity issues with their teeth. When I’m using everX Flow, I know that these are not going to be a problem’
- G-ænial A’CHORD nano hybrid unishade composite that Cat loves to use on both anterior and posterior teeth. ‘G-ænial A’CHORD’s unique filler and Full-Coverage Silane Coating (FSC) technologies make this composite really easy to place and give it excellent aesthetics and wear resistance,’ says Cat
- To ensure her direct restorations always have a smooth, aesthetic finish, Cat loves to use GC’s Modeling Liquid. Applied on a brush and suitable for use with all direct composite materials, Modeling Liquid helps to reduce any stickiness. Cat says: ‘It means that my restorations come out looking beautiful and smooth and requiring far less finishing than ever before.’
