FMC makes key industry hires to drive practice service growth

FMC, the UK’s leading dental communications platform, is pleased to announce a series of strategic appointments to explore ways to support dental practices and the wider profession.

Barry Lanesman (former CEO Dentex), Amy Holdsworth (former operations director Dentex) and Eloise Ford (former marketing director Dentex) will be joining FMC in various key executive and non-executive roles, reinforcing the business’s commitment to providing practical, relevant, and trusted solutions for dental professionals and practice teams

These appointments mark an important milestone for FMC, following a successful management buyout (MBO) in August 2023. Since then, FMC has continued to lead the dental media and events sector, delivering trusted industry insights, high-profile events and engaging content that supports professionals in delivering the best possible care.

Alongside its work in publishing, education, and CPD, FMC has been developing additional practical solutions to help dental teams manage the challenges of running a practice more effectively. This includes Dentistry Compliance, Dentistry CPD and Dentistry Consent. All of these services are designed to ease administrative burdens, enhance efficiency, and support clinicians in their day-to-day work.

Bringing a wealth of industry expertise, Barry Lanesman joins FMC as a non-executive director and investor. As CEO of Dentex, Barry successfully led the group through a period of rapid expansion, growing it from startup to 175 practices within six years before its acquisition by Portman Group in 2024. His deep understanding of how dental practices operate and the daily challenges faced by clinicians will help shape FMC’s efforts to develop meaningful, real-world solutions that help practices thrive.

Pivotal stage

FMC has seen an increasing demand from practices for support with CPD, compliance, consent and patient acquisition to strengthen its ability to meet these needs. With this in mind, Amy Holdsworth has been appointed as practice services director. With extensive sector experience, Amy will work alongside FMC’s CEO Craig Welling, Barry and the FMC board to continue evolving FMC’s support for practices.

FMC has appointed Eloise Ford as marketing director to lead its marketing strategy, customer engagement, and growth initiatives. With extensive experience in brand and performance marketing, as well as deep industry insight, Eloise will strengthen FMC’s ability to support practices in achieving their long-term ambitions. She will play a key role in shaping how FMC’s offerings connect with and bring value to practices across the UK.

FMC’s innovative, customer-first approach, combined with its trusted reputation built over 30 years, the business is well-positioned to lead the next phase of technology-driven transformation within the dental sector.

Barry Lanesman commented: ‘I’m excited to join FMC at such a pivotal stage in its journey. The team has built an exceptional platform that delivers what dental practices really need – clear, practical solutions that drive measurable results.

‘I look forward to helping FMC further support practices in overcoming fragmentation and complexity, replacing it with smart, scalable technology that works in the real world.’

Craig Welling added:Having Barry, Amy and Eloise join us is a major milestone. Their combined experience, expertise, and deep understanding of practice growth will be invaluable as we continue to build momentum.

‘We are passionate about helping practices grow, reducing stress, and ensuring every practice feels part of a thriving, collaborative community. With this additional support, we are even better positioned to deliver what really matters to practices across the UK.’
