Damira Dental acquires two dental groups following administration

Damira Dental Studios has acquired Astradent Dental Group and Compass Clinics following both groups entering administration.

Damira Dental Studios has acquired Astradent Dental Group and Compass Clinics following both groups entering administration.

Astradent Dental Group operated a number of practices across the UK, offering both NHS and private dental treatment. Similarly, Compass Clinics operated two mixed practices in Norfolk.

As of July 2024, both groups entered administration leading to the abrupt closure of its practices. These closures left thousands of patients without access to dental treatment.

The acquisition by Damira Dental Studios has resulted in the reopening of the Astradent Dental and Compass Clinics practices. This expansion has added seven new practices across Hampshire and Norfolk to the Damira Dental network.

The newly acquired practices are located in Petersfield, Cosham, Portsmouth, Holt, Wells-next-the-sea and two in Southampton.

Anushika Brogan, CEO and founder of Damira Dental Studios, shares what pushed her to acquire the groups and her plans for the practices’ future.

What inspired you to step in and acquire Astradent Dental Group at such a critical time?

We acquired Astradent and Compass Clinic Dental Group within two weeks of them going into administration to ensure that patients would continue to receive dental care after their closure. We saw an immediate need to step in and provide stability and continuity for the affected patients.

Damira has always focused on delivering high-quality care, and this acquisition was a natural extension of our commitment to the communities we serve.

How does the corporate fit within the Damira Dental network?

The acquisition fits well with Damira’s existing operations.

The new practices in Hampshire complement our existing locations, while the addition of the Norfolk sites expands our reach into a new region. This growth aligns with our broader goal of increasing our presence and accessibility across the UK.

Operationally, Damira has a strong framework for managing practices effectively, and we’ll apply this expertise to ensure a smooth transition.

What are your priorities for ensuring these practices thrive under your leadership?

Our immediate priority is to stabilise the situation for both patients and staff. We’re also investing in necessary upgrades to the practices, including technology and staff training, to improve overall efficiency and patient experience.

By focusing on these key areas, our goal is not just to keep these practices operational, but to support their growth and success within the Damira network.

What is your long-term vision for the future of these practices?

Our long-term goal is to fully integrate these practices into the Damira network while expanding the range of services offered.

We want these practices to be seen as reliable, high-quality options for dental care in their communities, and we’re committed to supporting their growth and success.

What message would you like to send to the patients and employees who may have been concerned about the future of these practices?

To our patients and employees, we want to reassure you that these practices are in good hands with Damira Dental Studios. We understand there may be concerns about the transition, and we are committed to addressing them.

Our top priority is to maintain excellent care and support our staff throughout this transition. Many patients have been left mid-care and treatment and we are trying to stabilise the situation to ensure their needs are met first.
