Where do you think NHS dentistry will be in three years’ time?

Del Kahya looks forward to the future and considers what NHS dentistry could look like in the next three years.

While it’s difficult to predict the exact state of the NHS in three years’ time, it is important to highlight the positive aspects of NHS dentistry and advocate for its continued existence.

NHS dentistry plays a crucial role in providing accessible and affordable dental care to a wide range of patients, including children.

It contributes to the overall oral health and wellbeing of the population. It ensures that dental services are available to those who may not have the means to afford private care.

To safeguard the future of NHS dentistry, it is essential for dental professionals, policymakers and the public to come together and actively promote its benefits.

This involves highlighting the importance of regular dental check-ups, advocating for adequate funding and resources for the NHS dental sector, and addressing the challenges faced by the system.

By working together, it is possible to raise awareness about the impact of NHS dentistry and the potential consequences if it were to diminish or disappear. This can help change the narrative surrounding the NHS. It can also encourage individuals to appreciate the value of the services it provides.

Improve outcomes

Additionally, efforts can be made to address the issue of the 6.5 million children who did not receive dental checks.

By focusing on improving access to dental care, promoting oral health education, and implementing strategies to encourage regular check-ups, it is possible to reduce this statistic and improve the oral health outcomes of children.

In summary, while the future of NHS dentistry may face challenges, it is important to unite and highlight the positive aspects of the system.

By advocating for its benefits and actively working towards improving access and awareness, we can strive to ensure that NHS dentistry continues to serve the population and provide essential dental care for patients who need it.
