Supervising your staff to correctly chart and record patient information on the EMIS electronic database you will contribute to development of protocols and guidelines in clinical care and help with staff training. You will ensure all equipment is well maintained, serviced and in good repair and that staff is trained in its use and maintenance.
Restorative procedures will include root canal treatments and you will make full and partial acrylic and chrome/cobalt dentures. You will triage denture patients and complete all outstanding dental treatment and request pathology laboratory tests before treating medically compromised patients. You will deal with extractions and minor oral surgical procedures under local or general anaesthetic, intra-oral and OPG radiographs, dental trauma, special needs patients and scaling and periodontal treatment. Out–of hours emergency care service is shared with the Senior Dental Officer and you will help with the daily emergency dental clinic.
Supporting the school dental health programmes, you will organise screening at least once per year ensuring that all those requiring treatment are seen within 4 months. Dental indices scoring should be recorded as a minimum for all children.
Holding a full General Dental Council registration or equivalent and in good standing with your registering body, you must have substantial Primary Dental Care Experience and be up to date with all CPD requirements and have proof of Hep B immunity.
